Glance, the world’s leading smart lock screen platform today unveiled the Glance Smart Lock Screen Trends Report Indonesia 2024, highlighting “glancing” as a digital phenomenon in Indonesia, the world’s fourth-largest smartphone market. The report developed in collaboration with Mindshare and covering data from January to September 2024, shows that over 30 million Indonesian users are now interacting with Glance for personalized content and experiences. In just nine months, users have collectively recorded more than 117 billion glances* and 2 billion taps, underscoring Glance’s seamless integration into the daily lives of Indonesian users.
Indonesian consumers are deeply connected to their cultural roots and are increasingly using Glance Smart Lock Screen to honor traditions and celebrate heritage. On Independence Day, over 1.1 billion glances reflected national pride as users engaged with content celebrating Indonesia’s milestones. Ramadan saw a remarkable 1.9 billion glances, with Indonesian users turning to Glance for recipes, wellness tips, and faith-based reflections. During the Pilkada (regional elections), Glance recorded 660 million glances, as citizens closely followed this important democratic event. These powerful numbers showcase how Glance is enabling Indonesian users to stay informed, preserve tradition, and celebrate their cultural identity in today’s digital era.
Beyond cultural content, Indonesian consumers are turning to Glance to enrich their daily lives. Health and wellness topics alone received 3.9 billion glances, with beauty content close behind at 3.6 billion, reflecting a collective focus on well-being and self-care. Glance has emerged as an important destination for real-time information and entertainment in Indonesia, the report found. News content led the way, with 7.2 billion glances and 152 million taps, offering users immediate access to real-time updates. Gaming also kept users engaged, with free-to-play games played more than 277 million times on the platform. The report further reveals that users spent over 240 million hours watching curated videos on trending topics, highlighting Glance’s role as an all-in-one source for entertainment and lifestyle inspiration.
