Non-Profit Organisation to Transform Operations, Infrastructure, Network and Applications to Better Serve People Living with Neurological and Physical Disabilities in NSW and the ACT
Nexon Asia Pacific (Nexon), a leading cloud and managed service provider, today announced that it will be supporting Cerebral Palsy Alliance as it embarks on a digital transformation journey to improve the services it provides for people and families living with cerebral palsy, autism, motor neuron disease and other complex neurological and physical disabilities. Nexon will deliver an integrated high-speed network, managed security, unified communications and managed services platform that will support the non-profit organisation’s current needs and future expansion plans.
Established in 1945, the Cerebral Palsy Alliance provides a comprehensive range of neurological and physical services tailored to its client’s needs. These services include clinical management and therapy, lifestyle, social and health programs, together with assistive technologies, supported accommodation and day programs throughout NSW and the ACT. For over 11 years, the non-profit organisation has also been a driving force in international research into the prevention, treatment and cure of these disabilities through its Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation.
“Our digital transformation strategy is about focusing on our clients as the centre of our business and providing the digital enablement, both internally and externally, to support our rapidly evolving services and client needs,” said Dru von Drehnen, CIO of Cerebral Palsy Alliance. “We’re undergoing a major overhaul and transformation of our applications and infrastructure to address both aging technology and siloed systems that were clearly not supporting the business adequately.
“We’ve also significantly outgrown our network capacity and we’re struggling to support our mobile workforce, particularly those in remote locations. This technology environment doesn’t enable us to confidently provide the range of services needed to deliver our business and growth strategy.”
After conducting a competitive process and reviewing a number of different solutions in the market, Cerebral Palsy Alliance selected Nexon for its innovative, scalable and future-oriented managed solution. The solution offers ease of management; greater visibility and control of user access to applications over the network; and the ability to significantly increase staff productivity.
“Nexon offered us the most innovative and logical approach to driving our transformation,” said Ms Von Drehnen. “Nexon’s integrated solution suits our current and future requirements, particularly where we’re heading with the cloud. It’s about reliability, security and availability of the network. The redundancy and levels of growth that Nexon will build into the network is far beyond what we have now. This is truly a full managed service, driven by the need to free up internal IT resources to focus on transformation programs, whilst also achieving greater operational and cost efficiency for our organisation.”
Nexon’s digital transformation solution comprises of:
- Network services: a high-speed fully redundant network across all sites, providing network capacity, stability and traffic visibility.
- Managed SD-WAN: a software-defined solution powered by VeloCloud for all sites.
- Perimeter security: a managed solution from Palo Alto Networks to reduce cybersecurity risk.
- Nexon Absolute: a suite of complementary managed services that deliver a complete communication, collaboration and mobile environment, leveraging Microsoft Skype for Business and Enghouse Interactives’ virtual contact centre solution.
- Managed WiFi, outdoor wireless and LAN switching.
- 24x7 support.
This integrated solution from Nexon will enable better collaboration, high-speed network connectivity and improved productivity, particularly for its disparate workforce across NSW and the ACT. It will enable staff to access network hungry services, such as training materials, real-time videos and health assessments that are an important part of the therapy Cerebral Palsy Alliance provides to clients.
Cerebral Palsy Alliance has been a customer of Nexon’s for over 15 years, leveraging its network connectivity, management services and VoIP platform. Initially, Nexon managed the network across five sites. This has rapidly increased to 55 sites today and will continue to grow, as and when Cerebral Palsy Alliance adds new sites in the future.
“To address business priorities and mobile workforces, non-profit organisations like Cerebral Palsy Alliance need an agile and scalable solution to compete in today’s customer-centric and service driven environment,” said Barry Assaf, managing director of Nexon. “As we’ve seen throughout our partnership, Cerebral Palsy Alliance always puts its customers first. It will soon have a scalable solution that will accommodate its future needs and capacity as it continues to grow, while embracing collaboration and mobility. The productivity gains will enable them to drive better outcomes.”
