Qualys Launches Australian Multi-Tenant Cloud Platform to Support Australian Compliance Requirements

Australian government agencies and critical infrastructure organisations can now tap into the power of the Qualys Cloud Platform to protect sensitive data and critical assets

Qualys, Inc. (NASDAQ: QLYS), a pioneer and leading provider of cloud-based security and compliance solutions, today announced the establishment of an Australian multi-tenant cloud platform and deployment of its Qualys Australian Cloud to support its Australian customers, particularly those in the government and financial sectors.

Customer will now benefit from the Qualys Cloud Platform’s modern, cloud-native, microservices-based architecture with the assuredness of data sovereignty and compliance.

The announcements further Qualys’ investment in the region, which includes a recent expansion in headcount and a focus on expanding its Australian channel program.

Walter Manyati, Technical Director, ANZ at Qualys commented “The uptick in cyber incidents – especially those affecting the region’s critical infrastructure – has brought increased attention and investment into cybersecurity from the Australian government. The Qualys Cloud deployment in Australia is a response to and support for Australia’s growing cybersecurity needs. Local organisations can now leverage a singular, holistic platform to protect their most critical assets from increasingly sophisticated bad actors and comply with emerging cyber legislation and standards.”

Mark Hofman, Chief Technology Officer at leading cyber security consultancy CyberCX said “The launch of Qualys’ Australian Cloud is a step-change for Qualys’ Australian business. It removes the potential barriers of data sovereignty, which means more organisations from the public and private sector will be able to realise the benefits of the powerful Qualys Cloud Platform. We look forward to the opportunities that this launch will bring to our business and our customers.”

The Australian Cyber Security Centre’s (ACSC) yearly incidents report recently revealed a significant increase in attacks on critical infrastructure and essential services – including health care, food distribution and energy – over the past year. As a result, the local Australian cyber market has grown over 9 % annually, with the expectation that it will have the potential to triple in size over the next decade.
