Australian wholesale telecommunications provider, Symbio Networks which is part of the MNF Group (ASX:MNF), today announced the launch of a sub-wholesale mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) offer. This new sub-wholesale agreement secured with Telstra Wholesale is in addition to the existing agency MVNO agreement, and delivers a completely self-managed mobile service to wholesale customers.
Symbio customers entering the mobile market will now have unprecedented management capabilities when it comes to their own consumers, including the ability to bill directly, allowing for increased pricing and margin flexibility. The sub-wholesale agreement also offers enhanced services, including roaming options and a much faster on-boarding process.
“Symbio and MNF Group have a proven track record of delivering innovative, first to market solutions for our customers,” said Rene Sugo, CEO and co-founder of Symbio parent company MNF Group. “While our agency MVNO offer has been welcomed by wholesale customers, we also found that there was a growing demand for services through a sub-wholesale model. This new MVNO offer will give our customers unprecedented control over their own consumers when it comes to billing and communication; we simply deliver the SIM card and the 4G mobile coverage.”
The sub-wholesale MVNO service provides a 4G coverage footprint of 95% and a combined 4G and 3G coverage footprint of 98.8% of the Australian population. It will operate over Symbio’s proprietary iBoss platform, which allows new mobile players to go to market in 4 weeks and activate SIM cards 7 seconds of order placement.
Symbio has already signed a raft of new customers who recognised the advantages of the new sub-wholesale MVNO service. Unhappy with the alternatives on the market, established industry player Aussie Broadband chose to move to Symbio for its contractual flexibility and competitive pricing.
“Having access to a fully functional wholesale product was at the core of our decision. Having previously worked with Symbio, we knew they had the capability to deliver a robust mobile solution tailored to our needs” said Aussie Broadband Managing Director, Phillip Britt.
“Whilst internet is our core product, we also want to make sure that we can offer customers a full suite of quality products. Symbio’s iBoss platform has allowed us to fully integrate our own highly automated systems so that we can connect customers with minimum touch.”
The iBoss enablement platform has a long history interoperating with Telstra, being the first to on-board with the Telstra WME platform. Symbio will continue to offer its agency model MVNO service for customers who don’t want to assume billing and management responsibilities.
