Making a difference is in AOL’s DNA. Nearly every day, the company unleashes initiatives focused on making the world a better place. AOL plays a powerful role in bringing communities together, raising awareness and educating individuals through its content, distribution and platforms.
As part of AOL’s commitment to giving back, it is proud to announce the launch of its new Australian initiative, DeskAid which will see the company use its talents to make a real difference by helping those who can make the world a better place.
This startup support program is specifically designed to deliver exactly what early stage non-profit companies in Australia need: a community of experienced and well-connected professionals, opportunities to meet with mentors, as well as a fun and dynamic office space in Sydney with plenty of perks.
“The AOL community is proud to provide support for talented entrepreneurs to help overcome the challenges inherent in starting a non-profit company,” said Mitch Waters, managing director of AOL Australia and New Zealand.
AOL is giving up to three enthusiastic entrepreneurs in the non-profit sector, the opportunity to work alongside its Australian team for six months or more, in one of the most inspiring offices in Sydney’s CBD.
Specifically, DeskAid will support the winning startups with the following services for free, no strings attached:
- Three dedicated desks in AOL’s Sydney CBD office with water views.
- Brainpower from 25 ad tech experts – each will provide one hour a month in the form of ad support, website troubleshooting, insights into what other brands are doing with their marketing or leveraging partnerships to assist.
- High speed wi-fi and printing supplies.
- Meeting rooms.
- Bi-weekly boot camp run by a team member.
- Showers and change rooms.
- Use of ping pong table.
- Access to bicycles for intercity commuting.
- Access to a weekly pilates teacher.
