Birst, the global leader in Cloud BI and Analytics, today announced its newest data center will be opened in Sydney, Australia in September 2015. The data center further extends and strengthens Birst’s ever-growing global footprint by bringing proximity, security and high-performance to enterprises with a presence in Australia.
The announcement follows a spate of recent Australian customer wins for Birst, including Insurance Australia Group (IAG). With a single cloud BI platform, Birst’s customers can operationalise data to ensure that every person at every location can make data-driven decisions at every moment.
Birst’s growing presence in Australia aligns with prevailing trends in the region, led by the surging business intelligence market and underscored by increased customer demand for Birst’s BI platform. According to industry analysts, the BI and analytics market in Australia is valued at between $450 and $550 million, yet just two percent of organizations make decisions based on data coming from enterprise BI systems.
“Global enterprises are seeking a way to harmonise and blend their multiple sources of centralised and decentralised data to enable teams to collaborate more effectively. These enterprises want a more visual and adaptive user experience to support better decision making,” said Brad Peters, Chairman and Chief Product Officer, Birst. “As a consequence, our 2-Tier approach to BI is in heavy demand here. Our new Australian data center enables enterprises to quickly unify, refine and embed information within their organisations, while helping them meet regional security requirements and have data in the same region as their end users.”
With data centers in Asia, Europe and North America, Birst customers have the ability to choose where their data resides while leveraging data assets and driving business execution with a single cloud BI platform. In addition, with closer proximity to the data, global customers will experience reduced cloud latency, faster response times, consistent performance and localised data protection.
Birst recently announced partnerships with both SAP and the market-leading business analytics company Tableau Software. The partnerships, which are underpinned by the strength of Birst’s comprehensive 2-tier data architecture, will see Birst collaborating with SAP to provide customers with instant analytics in the cloud on the revolutionary SAP HANA Cloud Platform. With Tableau, it will to enable companies and organisations around the world to easily refine and unify their data with Birst and then seamlessly analyse it in Tableau.
In May, Birst unveiled Birst 5X, a new approach in BI, which uses Birst’s 2-tier architecture to rethink the user experience and transform how people work with data to give users an agile experience that adapts to their work style.
