iBoss platform launches with fully integrated SIP services

Symbio Networks, the operators of Australia’s largest IP voice network, today announces the launch of a fully integrated SIP solution on its enhanced iBoss platform. With the launch of SIP on iBoss, aggregation is no longer the province of traditional telco services. The scope of the offering includes the addition of SIP trunks and SIP endpoints – a first within the Australian wholesale telco market.

This opens up a new segment of the market for customer service providers and resellers to target those end-users who are embracing the IP revolution and moving to SIP-based voice services. Recent research from the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) reveals that 29% of small and medium-sized businesses already use IP phone services. CSPs can now extend to their customers the cost savings and functionality of the new-generation SIP trunking solution via iBoss aggregation, while also retaining the ability to sell traditional landline, as well as DSL, NBN and mobile services all through the one aggregation path.

“The newly enhanced iBoss platform is further enabling innovation within the industry by breaking down the barriers to entry for smaller businesses and start-ups in the post-NBN business environment” commented Jon Cleaver, Chief Commercial Officer. He added “It is also allowing digital diversification - we’re seeing big brands from other industries looking to enter the telco market and it is very satisfying to support the wider market in allowing them to innovate by giving them access to the technology, networks and a highly skilled team of people”.

The already tried and tested iBoss aggregation platform, with a solid reputation in the market, is now further enhanced and supported by Symbio’s national voice network. It is especially designed for those wishing to develop their telco offering or even enter the market, with reduced barriers and straightforward signup that condenses 1,000 pages in 15 carrier contracts into just one single iBoss contract. It provides the essential link between wholesale telecoms operators and suppliers, including Telstra, Optus, AAPT and now Symbio, with the added benefit of providing a modular approach. This means that customers are able to buy into the suite of solutions as and when they need to – starting with the basic aggregation and scaling up to add BSS/OSS capabilities, provisioning, billing and so on. This allows iBoss to grow with their business without the prohibitive upfront CAPEX spend typically associated with entry into the telco industry.

The iBoss platform has a solid track-record in the wholesale voice & data aggregation, BSS/OSS enablement and MVNO/MVNE services. Within its MVNE offer, iBoss was the first, and is still the only, platform to provide wholesalers access to Telstra pre-paid services. Symbio Networks acquired its business and intellectual property in July 2014 and has since been enhancing and redeveloping the service, to make it a provider of choice with the most feature-rich aggregation and BSS/OSS services in the Australian market.

The iBoss platform is developed around three key features and services:

Aggregation

For new entrants into the telecommunications market, service aggregation allows providers to overcome barriers to entry and get up and running in minimum time. iBoss eliminates the complexity by condensing multiple carrier relationships, contracts and interconnects into one aggregation point. This means the iBoss completes the ground work and there’s no need for the customer to sign a contract with the carriers.

Enablement

iBoss provides a fully integrated end-to-end cloud based BSS/OSS platform. This is key when speed to market and business efficiency is paramount, but also allows for flexibility as the cost of entry is low and customers can take advantage of the modular approach and build their offering as their business grows. This is supported by enhanced financial management, eliminating revenue leakage to help customers grow their bottom line.

Mobile

The iBoss mobile platform allows customers to develop their own branded telecommunications offering or build on an existing customer base to increase revenue by developing their own mobile service. iBoss is currently working with a number of global brands to help them develop and build their mobile telco presence. It is also the only billing system of its kind to support Telstra pre-paid services. The proprietary billing platform was designed specifically for the use in the telco market and is a feature rich, complete billing service to allow ease-of-use and transparency.

Symbio Networks’ acquisition of iBoss in July 2014 forms part of a series of strategic acquisitions by the parent company, MyNetFone Group, to expand the telephony market and allow greater product innovation and customer satisfaction. The most recent being 2nd April 2015 when MNF Group announced the purchase of the global wholesale voice business of TNZI, the dominant international wholesale voice carrier in New Zealand.
