Energy-Efficient Premises Houses State-of-the-Art Demo Lab
Brocade (NASDAQ: BRCD) the leader in fabric-based networking solutions, has continued its program of investment in the economically vibrant Asia Pacific region with the opening a new head office for its Australian operations in Sydney today.
The new office is located at Innovation Place, 100 Arthur Street, which last year was awarded a 4.5 Star NABERS rating, making it one of the most energy-efficient buildings in North Sydney. It incorporates a state-of-the-art testing lab where Brocade customers and partners can get hands-on experience with the company’s latest network innovations.
Driven by trends such as data center virtualization and the impact of the National Broadband Network initiative, Australia will have a strong year of growth as companies transform themselves to embrace new technology and models like cloud computing and mobility. According to Forrester, Australia’s IT spending is forecast to hit AUD49 billion in 2012.[1] This is brought about by trends in computer equipment spending, software and IT consulting & IT outsourcing.
“It has been 12 years since Brocade established an entity in ANZ and since then we’ve established a strong business ecosystem with our partners and customers,” said Graham Schultz, Brocade’s Regional Director for Australia & New Zealand. “The investment we have made in this new facility is aimed at continuing our market momentum and ensuring that Brocade and its partners play a very full and innovative role in the development of the networked economy in the region.”
As well as its own technical facilities, the new Brocade office is networked to the company’s recently opened Regional Briefing Center in Singapore, enabling local sales staff, customers and partners to get updates on technology roadmaps and see demos of latest Brocade and solutions spanning service provider, enterprise data center and campus LAN environments.
