Dimension Data’s OpSource Positioned as a “Challenger” in Leading Industry Analyst Firm’s Latest Magic Quadrants for both Public Cloud IaaS and Managed Hosting

Company Recognised for its Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

OpSource, Inc., Dimension Data’s wholly owned enterprise cloud and managed hosting business, today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Challengers quadrant of its “Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)” report and in its “Magic Quadrant for Managed Hosting” report.

According to the Public Cloud IaaS report, “Many businesses, especially in the midmarket, are considering eventually migrating away from running their own data centres in favor of relying primarily on infrastructure in the cloud. Consequently, although sourcing cloud IaaS is typically a tactical decision, many organisations are also looking for long-term strategic partners.”

“We believe OpSource’s position in the Challengers quadrant is a reflection of the company’s success in delivering an enterprise-class IaaS and managed hosting solutions that enable IT to maintain visibility and control,” said Treb Ryan, CEO of OpSource. “Our acquisition by Dimension Data provides a significant platform to bring our capabilities to market globally.”

The most recent Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Infrastructure as a Service was published in December 2011 and covers multi-tenant cloud applications with a focus on scale-out cloud hosting, virtual lab environments, self-managed virtual data centres and turnkey virtual data centre segments. The Magic Quadrant for Managed Hosting report, released earlier in March, covers the enterprise-class, managed hosting market, regardless of whether the hosting is done on physical servers or virtualised infrastructure.

A long-standing leader in the IaaS market, OpSource is the only enterprise-class cloud IaaS offering that includes hardware-based security and scalability, complete customisation and integration, cloud management system, 24x7 live support and 100 percent availability guaranteed. In February 2012, Dimension Data launched a comprehensive portfolio of public and private cloud solutions based on OpSource’s capabilities. ICT and systems integrator Dimension Data acquired OpSource in 2011, providing the company a strong global distribution arm.
