Dimension Data has announced that Andrew Fisher has been appointed as Queensland State Manager. He is responsible for spearheading its entire business of over 100 staff in Queensland as it prepares for strong growth in 2012.
Fisher takes the role after leading Dimension Data’s Queensland sales operation as sales manager since January 2011.
According to Fisher his initial focus will be on growing Dimension Data’s key areas, especially cloud solutions and managed services.
“These will be significant growth areas for Dimension Data throughout 2012, with very strong client interest in business solutions that can help protect data and intellectual property. The recent flood disasters have had a real impact on the local community and driven a renewed focus on data protection,” he explained.
Ken Westwood, Chief Operating Officer of Dimension Data believes Fisher’s client focused approach is a perfect fit to lead the company in Queensland.
“Andrew has an engaging management style and long term experience of managing complex and diverse business environments. His people and client focus will drive strong leadership for the Queensland team,” he said.
Rodd Cunico, CEO of Dimension Data Australia’s systems integration business, agrees that Fisher is an asset to the Queensland business.
“Queensland is a booming business environment. Andrew has already established sound relationships within the Queensland community and he is perfectly placed to spearhead a very successful business,” he said.
Prior to joining Dimension Data, Fisher has held a number of senior sales and management roles. As global business development manager at Apollo Group, he established operations in Canada, USA, NZ and Australia. Previously he was managing director at global IT service provider Touchbase, with responsibility for seven operations covering Australia, NZ and India.
