A partnership with Metaflow will see content retailer MIA significantly expand its network of mobile apps, beyond its current five million downloads each month.
Global digital content retailer MIA has announced a partnership with Metaflow to facilitate a broader distribution network for mobile apps.
Developers can access the network through the Metaflow ARK Connection Hub, a simple online sign up process that enables developers to quickly launch apps to multiple outlets. Approved apps will be discoverable by users on a variety of networks facilitated by MIA in the region, including all Motorola Android devices, as well as content portals for Virgin, Boost, Telstra and Optus. The content will also reach the broader Metaflow global network.
MIA already delivers five million downloads to end users each month. It expects to see that number increase markedly through the alliance.
“We want to access the long tail of developers and bring them to our retail channels in volume, without re-inventing the wheel,” said Jon Mooney, COO of MIA. “Metaflow is already used by many of our direct content partners, so it made sense to partner with them and be part of a single delivery collaborative hub."
Mooney believes it is a crucial step in meeting the hunger for new apps which, he says, is showing no sign of slowing.
“This is an important partnership," says Metaflow CEO Charles McLeod. "MIA has an excellent presence in the region, with strong alliances. Together, we can offer innovative developers a simple way to connect, with the biggest distribution partners in the world using a stock once, deliver everywhere approach."
The company has also signed a content partner deal with MetaConnect, enabling its quality mobile games catalogue to be launched on MIA managed sites, pulling them directly from the developerARK.
