MIA develops technology & content for Motorola’s new Android devices in Australia & New Zealand

Australian mobile solutions provider, MIA International has been selected to provide technology and content solutions for Motorola’s new Android devices in Australia & New Zealand.  Motorola’s range of 3G Android-powered devices include the Motorola DEXT™ and Motorola BACKFLIP™, which have been launched exclusively to Optus customers.

MIA technology has enabled the content solution that provides the news and information feeds for the MOTOBLUR™ experience, as well as incorporating the My Moto™ entertainment content, which includes games, MP3 ringtones, wallpapers, animations and full track audio and video.

MIA’s Chief Operating Officer, Jon Mooney has indicated that the company is excited by the enormous growth of the Android platform to date; he said that Google’s Android Market application storefront now boasts more than 38,000 apps and that the Android platform is really gaining momentum with 60,000 new Android devices being activated per day. MIA is looking forward to working on a number of exciting Android development projects over the next few months.

“MIA is thrilled to have been selected by Motorola for our innovative approach in mobile services and our passion for the Android platform. It’s exciting to be involved in developing innovative solutions for Motorola. The Android devices are creating a lot of buzz with consumers and will certainly be popular,” said Jon Mooney.

Motorola’s MOTOBLUR mobile experience syncs users’ contacts, emails, posts, messages, photos and more from sources such as Facebook®, MySpace™, Twitter™, Gmail™, work and personal email and LastFM™.  Only MOTOBLUR™ organises all your messages from Facebook™, MySpace™, Twitter™ along with your emails and texts and streams them to a single live widget for immediate reply – right from the home screen.

“News, information and entertainment content is automatically pushed straight to the Motorola Android device’s home screen, in easy-to-digest streams, which allow users to spend less time managing their social lives and more time living it,” said Jon Mooney.
